
未来资源界面科学与智能应用研究中心于2025年11月18日依托中南大学于湖南长沙成立,该中心实验室核心技术以及文化特色传承于英国的卡文迪许实验室固体物理与固体化学系,可追溯至当时该系的几任主任Frank Philip Bowden (2 May 1903 – 3 September 1968)教授和David Tabor(23 October 1913 – 26 November 2005)教授,此二人被誉为现代(近代)摩擦学之父,而David Tabor教授和他的博士学生Jacob N. Israelachvili教授(分子间相互作用力的创始人)共同发明了表面力仪,揭开了分子力学研究的序幕。
此后,Jacob N. Israelachvili教授利用该仪器证明了DLVO理论的正确性,从此,奠定了分子力学的基础。后来,他最优秀的学生之一,加拿大工程院院士、加拿大皇家科学院院士、加拿大国家分子力与界面科学首席科学家、美国医学与生物工程院的会士 (Fellow)曾宏波教授将此技术带到了矿物加工、石油工程、新能源和环境等领域,并将理论物理和理论化学进行了广泛的传播和应用,获得了全球范围不同应用领域科学家们的认可。其弟子谢磊教授和胡文吉豪教授在曾教授的实验室学成归国以后,继续将自由探索、开拓创新的学术氛围发扬光大,结合所在学校中南大学的特色优势学科,赋予分子间相互作用力资源属性,以巩固现有研究方向优势、突破核心技术瓶颈为核心,聚焦矿物能源、矿物环境、矿物医药以及矿业智能机器人方向。在沉下心来坚持传统理论研究的基础上进行多学科交叉,在保证纯粹学术氛围的基础上,进行开拓性的工程与应用实践的创新。
中心第一任主任为胡文吉豪教授;谢磊教授、陈泽宇教授、张晨阳教授和罗志教授为副主任。该中心的成立,不仅是一种学术的传承,更像是一种横跨东西方文化的浪漫的科学接力。中心的每一位成员都在此庄严宣誓:

The Future Resource Interface Science and Intelligent Application Research Center (FRISIARC)was established on November 18, 2025, in Changsha, Hunan, under the auspices of Central South University. The core technology and cultural heritage of the center's laboratory are inherited from the Department of Physics and Chemistry of Solid at the Cavendish Laboratory in the UK, tracing back to the department's former directors, Professor Frank Philip Bowden (2 May 1903 – 3 September 1968) and Professor David Tabor (23 October 1913 – 26 November 2005). These two individuals are hailed as the fathers of modern tribology. Professor Tabor and his doctoral student, Professor Jacob N. Israelachvili (the founder of intermolecular interaction forces), jointly invented the surface force apparatus, unveiling the prelude to intermolecular and surface forces research. Subsequently, Professor Israelachvili used this instrument to prove the correctness of the DLVO theory, thereby laying the foundation for intermolecular and surface forces. Later, one of his most outstanding students, Professor Hongbo Zeng, who is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Engineering, a Chief Scientist of the National Institute for Molecular and Interfacial Sciences in Canada, and a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, brought this technology to fields such as mineral processing, petroleum engineering, new energy, and the environment. He extensively disseminated and applied theoretical physics and theoretical chemistry, gaining recognition from scientists across different application fields globally. After completing their studies in Professor Zeng's laboratory and returning to China, his disciples, Professor Lei Xie and Professor Wenjihao Hu, continued to promote the academic atmosphere of free exploration and innovation. Combining the distinctive strengths of their alma mater, Central South University, they endowed intermolecular interaction forces with resource attributes, focusing on consolidating existing research strengths and breaking through core technological bottlenecks. They concentrated on directions such as mineral energy, mineral environment, mineral medicine, and intelligent mining robots. Based on a deep commitment to traditional theoretical research, they engaged in multidisciplinary cross-fertilization. While ensuring a purely academic atmosphere, they pursued pioneering innovations in engineering and application practices. The first director of the center is Professor Wenjihao Hu with Professor Lei Xie, Professor Zeyu Chen, Professor Chenyang Zhang, and Professor Zhi Luo serving as deputy directors. The establishment of this center represents not only an academic legacy but also a romantic scientific relay spanning Eastern and Western cultures. Every member of the center solemnly swears:

We were born under the red flag and raised in the spring breeze. Truth-seeking is our belief, innovation is our strength, and technology holds our hope. Practical application serves the Chinese nation, and the unity of knowledge and action is our belief. In this prosperous era, we must not let it go to waste!
